Can I use my AAA for a friend if I’m not there?
According to AAA, the membership provides benefits to the actual member, not the vehicle.
That means if you are with someone else who is having car problems, you can use your card to get service for their vehicle.
The same would work if you don’t have a membership but a friend traveling with you does..
Do you need to be present for Triple A?
They will not tow your vehicle without the member present. Mind you it could be anyone on your account, it doesn’t have to be you. The driver will want your AAA card and a valid photo ID.
How do I know if I am a AAA member?
If you cannot locate it that way, you can try using the AAA national hotline 1-800-222-8252, the national membership hotline toll-free number. If you are still having problems, you can try to contact your local AAA office and they should be able to help you find your AAA number.

ULPT: In my 4 times of using AAA, I have not been asked for my ID when the the service member has arrived. So if you find a AAA card on the ground and it’s still valid go ahead and use it and pretend you’re that person. Chances are they aren’t gonna check your ID.
